About FIN

The University Framework Implementation Network has been established jointly by the National Qualifications Authority of Ireland and the Irish Universities Association and is comprised of representatives from the universities and their associated colleges. The aim of the network is to assist institutions, both on an individual and collective basis, in the implementation of the operational and academic changes arising form the introduction of the National Framework of Qualifications. It provides an opportunity to share implementation experiences and issues arising, and to develop, where appropriate, consistent approaches to practice. In this regard, the network has recently (December 2009) published a report, University awards and the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ): Issues around the design of programmes and the use and assessment of learning outcomes.

The network agrees its own approach on how it wishes to operate and has established its role and activities through collaborative discussion.
